Posted on March 28, 2011 - Spring Fever

As I prepare to get my creation station on for my Spring and Summer collections and all the shows that follow- I feel the fever... the fever for spring- the sunlight dancing on bare skin, the warm rains to follow, the free spirits flowing- all accented with brilliant colors.

Posted on July 09, 2008 - The Left Coast
Just returned from an amazing trip out West- Portland, OR via Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco, CA! A refreshing roadtrip through Oregon...into California. Cruising down Highway 1- the jurassic feel, monolithic rocks and the expansive Pacific is refreshing to the eyes and calming to the mind... endless visual stimuli. Camped in the northern Redwoods near Crescent City- underestimated the cold of northern cali and froze our asses off... but hiked through thousand year old forests of these gigantic trees remind you of how small us humans really are. Then to Humboldt County to see friends... and then camped on the beach at Westport-Union Landing State Beach at Abalone Point...campsite 16- killer ocean view and comfortable camping! Mendocino was our next stop- enjoyed the small and friendly town- coffeed up and went to the local farmers market to purchase organic veggies and fruit for our dinner in Gualala. Had the pleasure of staying with the phenomenal raku ceramic artist, Karen Shapiro- had a fabulous dinner and relaxation in her hot tub! Woke up with homemade pancakes with blueberries and raspberries to charge us up for our drive to San Francisco- the most windy part we experienced yet on Highway 1. San Francisco... i love this city- for the diversity and constant 70 degree climate... no matter what time of year. Chilled with best friends, saw family, shopped, ate, and drank well... back into the urban scene... too short of a trip but sooooo sweet.
Posted on February 01, 2008 - Panama Phenomenon
I just returned from a two-week adventure in Panama- I celebrated be-lated holidays with my awesome parents. We trekked around the country from the Caribbean to the highlands to the Pacific with some city dwelling. What a Central American secret. Ssshhhhh. Panama City via Bocas del Toro via Boquete via Santa Catalina via Isla de Coiba via Panama City via San Blas. A jam-packed two week holiday... but a great overview. I'm looking forward to going back. I met extended family I've never met before, drank delicioso cafe con leches, snorkeled, hiked, white-water rafted, scuba dived with sharks, turtles, and manta rays, observed the Kuna Indian culture and simply relaxed. Interesting fact: 3 million people- the entire population of Panama! Still untouched... go while it remains undeveloped.
Posted on December 16, 2007 - Holiday Potluck Dinner & Birthday Celebration
potluck dinners are so satisfying.. a little bit of this... a little bit of that... but not only because the food is so delightful and impressive (to the point where it makes you wonder why don't we all do this more often) but get-togethers over meals and in celebration of someone's life are the underlying reasons why they're so satisfying... because of the company...the company you'd like to see more often but we're all so damn busy. reminds you to slow down once in awhile and take it all in.
